Tornado Damage Claims

Your home or business has been destroyed or damaged by a Tornado. In a matter of seconds, your life, your home, your business, has been turned upside down. Your first instinct is to call your insurance company — it makes sense! It is after all, your most important life investment.

Unfortunately, insurance policies are complex and policy holders may not always understand their policy’s benefits and obligations. The experts, the Public Adjusters at Harris Claims Services are dedicated disaster specialists and public adjusters who work ONLY for the policyholders, the insureds, the tornado victims, NOT the insurance companies. We like to think of it as working for the good guys!

Tips for Tornado Damage Insurance Claims

If your home or business property has been affected by a tornado, it is urgent that you know what damage is covered by your insurance policy. Let us check on that for you. Even if you are not near a tornado warning area, your property can still be damaged from dangerous winds. Leave the property, CALL US immediately.

Contact your insurance company following a tornado disaster, file the claim and review your homeowner’s or renter’s insurance policy. If the policy was lost in the damage, your insurance company should provide another copy, immediately. Search for information regarding your policy’s coverage, deductibles, limitations or exclusions, and if there are any filing deadlines. Your Agent and our offices can work toghether on this.

If possible, take photos or video of the damage and try not to disturb the affected property and possessions. Allow only necessary authorities on site and let Harris Claims Services experts assist with the restoration and prepare the damage estimates with your insurance.

Harris Claims Services will guide you through every phase of the insurance claims process to ensure that your tornado damage claim is processed in a timely manner and paid in full. We will even help you with the relocation of your entire family during the restoration process.

Our Preferred Restoration Services department will assist you with the repair and restoration of your damaged property and if necessary, our owner, Jason Harris (who is also a practicing attorney) will review your case and determine the best course of action to ensure that your tornado damage claim is paid in full and that your property is restored to a pre–catastrophic condition or better. Please note although our owner, Jason Harris, reviews your file and although he is an attorney, you are not entering into an attorney client relationship and the firm of Harris Claims Services is not providing legal services.

Phase 1

PHASE 1 — Claims Adjustment: Adjust, Maximize, and Settle the Claim

During the first phase, Harris Claims Services helps manage the preparation, negotiation, and settlement of all claims covered under the insurance policy. Our staff of experts review your policy to confirm that all claims have been maximized and accounted for before closing any settlement. Remember your policy of insurance contains numerous clauses within a policy that can increase the recoverable amount. We know what to look for.

Harris Claims Services will move as quickly as possible to meet policy requirements to evaluate the facts and prepare the claim. Our prompt service helps preserve evidence that may otherwise be overlooked or destroyed by an insurance company adjuster. While it is our office which will prepare, support and negotiate the claim, the ultimate decision to accept is the owner.

Phase 2

PHASE 2 — Repair & Restoration: Construction & Restoration of Damaged Property

Once there is a verbal settlement agreement between Harris Claims Services and your insurance company, we’ll begin construction immediately. We won’t wait for the insurance company to issue the settlement checks, which can sometimes take months from the date of the tornado. We won’t wait for your bank to get there accounting together. (Mortgage companies usually are placed on the payment also)

If our customer decides to keep Harris Claims Services to perform the tornado repairs or restoration after Phase 1, then there is no building adjusting fee, and work is done based on the amount agreed upon by the insurance company.

Once again, we will guide you through every phase of the entire process to ensure that your tornado damage claim has been paid in full and your property is restored to a pre-catastrophic condition, if not better.

Tornado Damage Claim Costs & Fees

The fee for our public adjusting services is paid from insurance proceeds; therefore, there is no out-of-pocket expense to the policyholder or tornado damage victims. We charge between 7% and 10% of the insurance company’s claims settlement with you. Our team has helped policyholders obtain on average 35% to 200% more from their claims, so our fees are offset by the larger settlement that is obtained by using our services.

Let our public adjusters put our years of service, our knowledge and experience to work for you. We want you to understand how our staff of public adjusters works for you and how we can relieve your stress in this challenging situation. Schedule your FREE consultation now at 847-329-8444!
