Upon a verbal settlement agreement, Harris Claims Services begins construction immediately. Insurance companies can sometimes take months from the date of the disaster to begin issuing settlement checks. When HCS is retained to perform the flood or fire repairs or restoration, there is no building adjusting fee, and work is done based on the amount agreed upon by the insurance company. Here again, there are no out–of–pocket expenses to the property owner.
